Edges
Edge rolling
This section defines how far the tool must roll around the leading and trailing edges of the blade and the trailing edge of the splitter.
AutomaticIn this option, the tool path is automatically trimmed or extended in regard to tangency while approaching to and retracting from the material. |
|
Full (Without trimming)In this option, the tool rolls around the entire leading and trailing edge up to the back side. |
|
Trimmed by tool radiusIn this option, the tool path is trimmed when the radius of the leading and trailing edge exceeds the tool radius. |
|
Trimmed by lengthIn this option, the tool path is trimmed by a certain value defined in the Leading edge length/Trailing edge length fields. |
|
Trimmed by angleIn this option, the tool path trimming is defined by the angle that is spanned between the virtual extension of the blade edge and the cutting side. The values of the Leading edge angle and Trailing edge angle are set in the separate fields. |
Extension
This section enables you to extend the tool path in the direction of the leading and trailing edge.
Leading edge
This option enables you to extend the leading edge in the tangential (along the cutting direction) or in radial (towards the rotation center) direction. The extension values are defined in the Tangential and Radial fields.
Trailing edge
This option enables you to extend the trailing edge in the tangential (along the cutting direction) or in radial (outwards from the rotation center) direction. The extension values are defined in the Tangential and Radial fields.
Tilting
This section controls the tilting limits at leading and trailing edges so that the tool does not tilt beyond the specified value. This helps in keeping the tool within the limits of the machine angles.
Extensions
The Extensions section enables you to tangentially extend the tool path by tilting the tool at start and end levels when finishing the blade and splitter surfaces.
This section is exclusive to the Blade finishing technology when using the SWARF strategy. |
