The Link page enables you to define the approach/retract, ramping and linking parameters of the Multiaxis Machining operation.

The tool path links can be defined using two types:
| Retract to clearance area: This option enables the use of straight line connection between the passes with retracting tool to the specified clearance area. |  |
| Clearance blend spline: This option enables you to link two contours with a new blend spline. The benefit is when this option is chosen, the link is collision free. |  |
| In the Apply on gaps larger (in % of tool diameter) parameter the threshold value for gap size is defined as a percentage of the tool diameter. Once the gap length becomes greater than the threshold, the link type specified for large gaps is used. |  |
Lead in/out
In the Lead in/out section, the input and output is created automatically and is not optional. SolidCAM always tries to adapt a tangential arc to the contour. You can define a desired Radius for the arc and a Minimum radius value. The Min. radius is used when the desired arc radius does not fit. For example, when the edge is in a narrow space within the part, or when the collision control system cuts the contour.
