Tolerance

This page enables you to set the default values for tolerances used in different SolidCAM modules.

Probe

Tolerance defaults

This table enables you to define maximal and minimal values of the tolerance separately for each parameter used in Probe operations.

3D HSM/3D HSR

3D HSR – Point reduction tolerance

This section enables you to define the default values and default position of the Tolerance slider used in the Point reduction section of the Passes page of an HSR operation.

The default value of each field are: 0.02, 0.04, 0.06, 0.08, 0.1. You can choose any other positive value or zero.

3D HSM – Passes tolerance

This section enables you to define the default values and default position of the Tolerance slider used in the Passes section of the Passes page of an HSM operation.

The default value of each field are: 0.01, 0.008, 0.006, 0.004, 0.002.You can choose any other positive value or zero.

3D HSM – Point reduction tolerance

This section enables you to define the default values and default position of the Tolerance slider used in the Point reduction section of the Passes page of an HSM operation.

The default value of each field are: 0.002, 0.004, 0.006, 0.008, 0.01. You can choose any other positive value or zero.

The Fit arcs option enables you to activate the fitting of arcs to the machining passes according to the specified Tolerance value. If this option is not selected, the Tolerance value remains fixed. If this option is selected, the Tolerance value can be controlled with a slider moving to discrete positions.

HSS

HSS – Cut tolerance

This section enables you to define the default values and default position of the Cut tolerance slider used in the Surface quality section of the Tool path parameters page of an HSS operation.

The default value of each field are: 0.01, 0.008., 0.006, 0.004, 0.002.You can choose any other positive value or zero.
