System and User-defined Technology databases

When SolidCAM is installed, the System Hole Recognition (SHR) database is also installed in the data folder of SolidCAM.

When SolidCAM starts the AFRM process, the Part HR database is created and copied into the CAM-Part folder. During the AFRM process, SolidCAM receives data only from the Part HR database. This database can be modified by the user for specific tasks in the context of the specific CAM-Part.

You can create any  number of databases by making copies of the Part HR database and modifying them. After the modifications have been inserted, save the new database by clicking Save as in the Technology Database Manager dialog box.

SolidCAM enables you to load any database with the Technology Database command from the SolidCAM menu. Click Technology Database > Open and choose the database name from the Load menu.

The Technology Database Manager dialog box is displayed.

The System Database is unavailable when the Holes Recognition process is working. In this case only the user-defined TDB can be edited.

The currently used TDB can be loaded by clicking the technology database from the Holes Recognition toolbar.

The Technology Database Manager dialog box is displayed.
