Rest rough
The Rest rough tab enables you to perform the Multiaxis rest roughing of pocket-shaped geometries by calculating the areas left unmachined by previous larger tools and then generating the appropriate tool path to remove only those areas.
The following parameters are required for accurately calculating the rest material:
- Previous tool diameter
- Previous tool corner radius
- Previous roughing offset
By clicking Pick, you can select the previously used tool from the TOOLKIT dialog box to simplify your operation entries. The Previous roughing offset must always be entered manually.

On intricate parts, you can define as many rest roughing operations as necessary to remove as much material as possible before semi-finishing/finishing. |
