Probe  

This tool type is used for performing measurements operations directly on your milling machine and without interruption of the machining cycles. The Probe tool is intended only for a Probe operation, and it cannot be applicable within other SolidCAM operation.

The tools of this type are defined with the parameters shown in the image.

Diameter defines the diameter of the spherical part of the probe tool.

Arbor diameter (AD) defines the diameter of the arbor cylinder (upper cylinder) which is connected to the tool holder.

Shoulder diameter (SD) defines the diameter of the shoulder cylinder (lower cylinder).  

Total Length defines the total length of the probe tool measured from the probe sphere center. The Total Length is measured from the probe sphere center.

Shoulder length (SL) defines the length from the tool tip till the start of the upper cylinder (defined with the Arbor diameter). The Shoulder length is measured from the probe sphere center.  

H Length defines the length from the probe tool tip till the spindle base face. This parameter is used for the Machine Simulation mode only. The H Length is measured from the probe sphere center.
