Levels page

This page enables you to define the machining levels for the operation.

Positioning levels

When the mode is enabled in the Operation dialog box, the Start level and Clearance level parameters appear on the Levels page.

The Safety distance parameter defines the distance to the Upper level at which the tool starts moving at the Z feed rate automatically calculated for the tool. Movements from the Clearance level to this height are performed in rapid mode.

Milling levels

The iMachining technology enables you to define the Upper level, Lower level (Pocket depth) and Delta parameters using the solid model data.

iMachining 2D supports the machining of geometries with different depths in a single operation. On the Levels page, the Milling levels section enables you to select the machining levels using one of two options: Constant or Variable.

The Technology Wizard displays only the Cutting conditions for the geometry having the largest total depth. If you want to see or if you want to modify the Cutting conditions for geometries of smaller total depths, each geometry must be defined in a separate operation.

Through machining

In iMachining 2D calculations, areas of large aspect ratios may be separated if it is more efficient to clear the divided areas with morphing spirals.

The Through machining option informs the iMachining technology to disable the separation of large areas in the instance you are machining through the bottom of the workpiece. This option is used to avoid having the separated material break away.
