Insert Definition
| Insert Shape | The shape of the insert |
| Thread type | This section enables you to choose the threading standard from the table. Corresponding values are automatically inserted in the table below, where you can edit them manually. |
| Ra | The tool nose radius |
| Pitch (p) | The pitch value |
| a | The tool tip angle |
| z | The offset from the insert edge to the cutting tooth tip |
| Insert Height (H) | The length of the insert from the top to bottom point |
| Thickness | The thickness of the insert |
The Insert only option enables you use the insert without the shank, if you want to mount the cutting insert on an STL holder.
The this option is selected, the Shank page is disabled, and the Insert lead angle field is displayed enabling you to set the position of the insert without rotating the whole tool.
Shank Definition
| Shank type | The shape of the shank |
| Cutting Direction | The side of shank on which the insert is mounted. |
| Shank width (A) | The width of the shank |
Tool length (L) |
The length of the tool from the top to bottom point |
| Head length (N) | The length of the thicker part of the tool |
| Thickness | The thickness of the shank |
| Head width (M) | The width of the thicker part of the tool |
