Channel synchronization - Introduction

SolidCAM’s Channel Synchronization operation enables you to synchronize operations in multichannels machines and organize the order of operations. . Using channel synchronization, you can finish machining a part in the following ways:

  • In lesser time by simultaneously machining two sides of a part. For example, front of a part on main spindle and back of the same part on back spindle utilizing either upper turret or lower turret or both. The advantage is you do not have to keep the spindle idle, waiting for the primary operation to finish and the secondary one to start.

  • Simultaneously performing machining processes on both the spindles.

In Milling operations, where there is only one spindle, the channel synchronization operation can be used to synchronize the tool in such a way that without going back to the home position, the tool can finish machining operation on one part and immediately start the other operation on the second part.

  1. Open the Channel synchronization dialog box. Right click Setup > Channel synchronization.

  1. The Channel Synchronization window opens.
