Update Part Tool Table according to machine tool table

When this check box is selected, SolidCAM automatically updates the Part Tool Table with tools from the Machine Tool Table defined in the VMID file, when the CNC-Controller is changed for the CAM-Part.

  • Only used tools numbers

This option enables you to update only those tools that were used in operations. Tools that were not used will be removed from the Part Tool Table. Used tools that were not found in the Machine Tool Table will be numbered with the next sequential numbers.

  • Renumber tools from 1 when there is no machine tool table

The option removes all unused tools from the Part Tool Table. The used tools will be renumbered starting from number 1. If this option is not active, SolidCAM removes all unused tools from the Part Tool Table. The used tools will not be renumbered.

This option is available only if the Only used tools numbers option is activated and only if the Machine Tool Table is not defined for the VMID file of the new CNC-Controller.

Set tool as permanent when user changes the tool number

This option enables you to automatically make tools Permanent when the Tool Number is changed.

Import options

To simplify your selections when importing tools, you can define default parameters to be used in the Import from tool table dialog box.

The Import from field enables you to specify the full path to the folder containing the default library for tool import. Click to browse for the folder. Select the library format from the Default tool table format drop-down list. Then select the library name from the Default tool table drop-down list.

The Default to import tool field enables you to specify the default tool import method.

Export options

The Export to field enables you to specify the full path to the folder containing the default library for tool export. Click to browse for the folder. Select the library format from the Default tool table format drop-down list.
