Pocket Operation

In pocket milling, you have to remove material from the interior of a closed geometry. SolidCAM offers two types of pocketing:

When a profile geometry consists of one or more profiles and none of them are enclosed or intersect with one another, each is milled as a separate pocket without islands.

When a profile geometry consists of several profiles, any profile that is enclosed or intersecting with another profile is treated as an island. You can define an unlimited number of islands within a single pocket.
