Fixture definition - Chuck (User-defined)

This option enables you to define the fixture by selecting a wireframe geometry chain.

The selected geometry chain is projected onto the ZX-plane of the Machine Coordinate System and symmetrically extruded normally to the ZX-plane to obtain the solid model of the chuck. The extrusion thickness is defined by the Thickness parameter.

Associativity is maintained for fixtures defined by 2D profiles.

In the Defined by list, when you select Chuck (User-defined), the following Model dialog box in displayed.

Options

Spline Approx

This section enables you to define the Spline approximation tolerance for the chain selection.

Gap minimum / Gap maximum

These sections allow you to define the minimum and maximum gap values.

Pick "Z" for Fixture Mounting / Pick "Z" for Part Mounting

These buttons enable you to define the "Z" point for Fixture/Part mounting. Clicking on these buttons displays the Pick Point dialog box. The relevant coordinate of the picked point appears in this dialog box.

3D Options

This section enables you to define the 3D related parameters.
