Tool

The Tool page of the Geodesic Machining operation is similar to the regular Milling operation Tool page.

The following tabs are available:

• Tool - this tab displays the major tool parameters and enables you to choose tool by clicking the Select button.

• Data - this tab enables you to define the feed, spin and tool offset parameters for the tool chosen in the operation.

• Feed Control - this tab enables you to define the feed control parameters.

• Coolant - this tab enables you to define tool coolant options.

• Tool change position - this tab enables you to define the tool change position parameters.

Calculation mode 

The tool path is generated according to the Tool tip or Tool center.

When the Tool contact mode option is chosen, the tool path is calculated according to the Tool tip. Tool contact mode supports the following tools- Bull nose mill, Ball nose mill, End mill, Taper mill, Taper ball nose , Slot mill and Barrel shape.
When the Tool center mode option is chosen, the tool path is calculated according to the Tool center. The tool center mode allows collision free tool path generation in sharp inner corners, curves or multiple surfaces. Tool center mode supports the following tools- Ball nose mill, Taper ball nose and Lollipop mill.
