Cutting Condition Data

Cutting Condition enables you to define, for the Cutter component, default sets of cutting parameters for the machining of different Work Materials and for use in different Applications (MILLING and/or TURNING).

Cutter Material

This Cutter property is specific to and used in iMachining operations. The pre-defined list in the Cutter Material section enables you to select a given type of material from which the Cutter is made. The Cutter Material selection affects the Max. Cutting Speed adjustments generated by the Technology Wizard along with the associated Feed Rate Max and Max. Spin parameters. By default, the following options are available for selection:

Carbide at 100% (default selection)
Cobalt at 60%
HSS at 40%
Premium Carbide at 150%

Coolant hole

Enable the Coolant hole check box to handle the Turret Coolant through Tool.

Cutting condition table

This table enables you to define sets of cutting parameters relevant for machining of different work materials by the current tool.

If no cutting condition sets are defined, you can create a new set and fill it with the cutting parameters data using the right-click menu.

You can manage any number of Cutting Condition sets.

Add enables you to define a new set of cutting conditions for machining of the specified work material by the current tool.
Cut enables you to cut the selected set(s) of cutting conditions.
Copy enables you to duplicate the existing sets of cutting conditions by selecting a row in the table. A new row with the same parameters will be added.
Paste enables you to paste the selected set(s) of cutting conditions.
Delete enables you to delete the selected set(s) of cutting conditions.
Delete All enables you to delete all the of cutting condition sets except the default cutting condition set.

To select a cutting condition row, choose the corresponding radio button.

Cutting parameters

For each Cutting Condition set, you can use the corresponding tabs to specify the default Feed & Spin data (separately for Milling [M] and Turning [T] operations), Turret Coolant and Machine Coolant.
